As well as St Annes pier, Lytham hosts a plethora of activities including the famous St Annes Beach Huts, the mini-train, trampolines and bouncy castles, mini fairground mini links pitch and putt, a toddler play area, the YMCA Leisure Centre, The Island Cinema, and RNLI Lifeboat station.

The coastal walk is an enjoyable experience. Start from the broad sands, north of the pier in St Annes, walk past the pier and the beach huts to a more shingled area. This route will take you to Fairhaven Lake, then Granny's Bay. A flat promenade walk then takes you along to Lytham Green and the Windmill. Fairhaven Lake is a great spot for bird-watching is also the host of the RSPB Ribble Discovery Centre.

There are several free play areas at Ashton Gardens in St Annes and also near the beach huts on the sea-front. Fairhaven Lake has tennis courts, and skate park and toddler pirate park. Towards Lytham, Lowther Gardens has a toddler play area and Park View 4U in Lytham accommodates all ages with larger playing fields, a BMX track, a sand & water play area and climbing frames.
For foodies this is the fish and chips capital and you can sample some great cuisine at a choice of restaurants across the county.
